Musical Week is Here!

Good afternoon everyone,

Welcome to Week 9, it is shaping up to be a busy one for the parents and students of Silver Room so my focus this week is making sure that our routines and classroom procedures are consistent so that the students can be as prepared as possible for our performances this week.

I would like to congratulate Jeremy and Zac and their families on a lovely Confirmation ceremony yesterday morning. The boys were very reverent and respectful and were a credit to our class.

Thank you to Polly, Abbey and Greta for taking the time to come along and support the boys, I know they and their families really appreciated it!

Just a few reminders for the last couple of weeks of term.

Uniform- Sports Uniform is to be worn by the 5's and 6's all week. Your son may need to leave their grey school pants and black school shoes here as part of their costume. Please make sure this comes with them to school tomorrow.

Please also make sure that you take some time over the holidays to check that your child's uniform is ready for Term 4.

As per our OLC Uniform Policy, please remember that all sneakers are to be predominantly white or light grey. The grace period given to transition your child's shoes to the correct ones finishes at the end of this term.

Learning Journey's - These will be held next Monday 19th September beginning at 3.15pm in Silver Room. A note will be sent home with your child tomorrow. As per previous years, please write your name in one of the slots provided.

Shoebox Donations - Please make sure that these are in by tomorrow afternoon at the very latest. It is important that all donations are received as soon as possible so that the boxes can be shipped in time.

Calendar Art - Order forms are due in as soon as possible. If you have lost yours, please see Mrs Marrell at the Office.

Maths Feedback Sheets - If you can take some time over the coming week to go through your child's maths text book and complete the feedback sheet it would be appreciated. Please remember to focus on the positives of your child's learning and direct all comments to them.

Shrek Supper - Please check for an email from Amanda, Bree and Bec about the Year 6 contributions to Supper. I can store any biscuits here in class if needed.

We have been working hard here in between rehearsals focus sing on ballads in our literacy time. Students will be researching a ballad to present to the class through an in-class research project.

In Maths we have been looking at constructing angles, graphing and coordinates which has been a lot of fun!

A couple of dates for the calendar - Friday 16th September Mum's Footy Game. Please come down and support this fantastic initiative for our community...always a great fun night! Any of the dads out there that may be willing to be a cheerleader please contact Mel Larsen!

Sports Carnival Week 10 - The students will be competing in jumps and throws on Tuesday and Wednesday and will culminate in our Carnival on Thursday 22nd September. Please let Mrs Sinclair know if you are able to help on any of those days.

Due to the busy week we have ahead, I have modified Homework for this week.

Students are asked to complete the following:

  • Reading - Read for 15-20 minutes and write it in your diary and then signed.
  • Maths - Unit 28 including the Think Box activity
  • BTN - Written Report due in on Wednesday 14th September.

Have a great week,

Mrs Delane
