Term 3, Week 6
Hi
Parents,
I
feel like a broken record, but how good has the weather been lately? We have a
busy back half of the term to look forward to.
Quote of the Week:
CONFIRMATION
ENROLMENT MASS
This will be held at the church this Saturday night
(31st August) at 6:00pm. All
candidates and at least 1 parent are required to attend.
CONFIRMATION STUDENT / PARENT WORKSHOP
Just
a reminder that this has been postponed until Wednesday 4th September. All candidates and at least 1
parent are required to attend this important workshop. It will begin in the
library at 5:30pm. Look forward to
seeing you there.
INAPPROPRIATE
USE OF IPADS
Just a friendly reminder that any important
messages you may have for your child during school hours need to come through
Fran, Kaya or Sandra in the front office. I understand that using iMessage to
communicate with your child is convenient, however, it is disruptive to the
class and your child’s learning.
Please remind
your child to disable their iMessage function at the beginning of the day. This
can be done by going into settings, scrolling down to messages and pushing the
top button (similar to turning Wifi on and off).
Any inappropriate use of the iPad during school
hours will result in your child receiving a 20 minute behaviour notification.
I appreciate your support in this matter.

Literacy:
Under this section you will
find the literacy learning intentions for the week.
Voices (Traits of good writers)
We have begun creating a paragraph to
describe the setting of our narratives. We used our five senses to help with
this. The students did a great job. Next we will look at the ‘STEAL’ technique
to help build a character.
Numeracy
Under this section you will find the Numeracy learning intentions for
the week.
This week, we will be revising everything
we have learnt in preparation for a test next week. The concepts we have
covered are: rounding, patterns and functions, 2D shapes, Fractions of an
amount, percentages, spatial orientation and coordinates.
Have
a great week!
Mr
Jones
