Confirmation Reminders
Good morning,
Just a couple of reminders for the candidates and prayer buddies as we continue our preparations to celebrate the Sacrament on Saturday 5th August.
Bishop's Visit - On Monday 31st August Bishop Gerard Holohan will be coming to meet all of the students and spend some time discussing their preparations. We have been learning a lot about the Fruits and Gifts given by the Holy Spirit, we have looked at the Nine Beatitudes and discussed how they can show these within their own lives as well as writing a procedure on the Rite of Confirmation.
During his visit he will be asking all the students (not just candidates) a wide variety of questions about the Sacrament and their preparations. If you can spend some time reviewing these concepts over the coming days with your child that would be great! This will help them to feel confident with any questions!
Sashes - Those students that are having their sash done by Hip Pocket will receive it back on Thursday 3rd August.
Parent Letters - This is a wonderful opportunity to further express your support to your child as they celebrate this milestone.

Students will read their LETTER during the retreat so therefore, it is VITAL that ALL students receive a
letter.
If however you choose not to
write to your child, you need to
explain this to your child prior to the retreat day so that your child
is not confused as to why they have been “left out”.
If your child is not
being confirmed, I am also asking the
parents of these students to write to their child, encouraging them in their
last year of primary school and expressing your support for them in the years
ahead.
The opportunity to
read a letter from a parent or sponsor will be a highlight for your child and
will be remembered for a long time.
These letters are due Monday 31st July.
Retreat Day Dress - Students are welcome to wear free dress to our Retreat on Wednesday. We will be working in the hall and it can be quite chilly so please make sure that your child is dressed appropriately. We will be walking down to the church at 1.30pm to practice for Saturday night so appropriate footwear will need to be worn.
Candidate Documentation - Please make sure that all Confirmation Cards have been filled in and returned as well as the list of Sacraments received. Please include your $25.
Calligrapher Needed - I am still in need of a calligrapher to write the certificates out. If you can help, please let me know as soon as possible.
Sherrylee Tutt has kindly offered to organise the flowers. I have had a couple of families kindly volunteer their home for our family mass. I will confirm the date in Term 4 and location in the coming weeks.
I thank you all for your diligence in attending meetings, filling in paperwork, sending in money, organising sashes and outfits and helping to prepare your child. I am really looking forward to the lead up next week and Saturday night.
Kind regards,
Mrs Delane
