a great start to the Eagle’s finals campaign with a solid win over Mr Lee’s
Essendon. Looks like we have reasonable week of weather ahead before a massive
game against Geelong on Friday night. Go the Eagles!

Year Six Camp and Confirmation Retreat. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU READ ALL THE

SHOE BOX APPEAL
It is that time of the year when we begin to
collect gifts for our shoe box appeal. Your child will be sent a letter (via OneNote)
explaining what age group and gender of child that they are buying for. Could
you please have all items in the class by the end of week 9 please? At the beginning
of Week 10, the Year 3, 5 and 6 classes will get together to pack the boxes.
Ideas of what to purchase
SOMETHING TO
WEAR: t-shirt, polo shirt, shorts,
skirt, cap, beanie, sandals, etc.
SOMETHING TO
LOVE: teddy bear, doll, soft toy,
etc.
SOMETHING
SPECIAL: carry bag, sunglasses,
bangles, stickers, necklaces, craft kits, wind-up torch, a personal note, a
photo of yourself, etc.
SOMETHING FOR
SCHOOL: exercise book, pencil case,
pens, pencils, colouring pencils, sharpener, eraser, chalk, etc.
SOMETHING TO
PLAY WITH: tennis ball, cars, skipping
rope, marbles, musical instrument, yo-yo, slinky, finger puppets, etc.
SOMETHING FOR
PERSONAL HYGIENE: soap and face
washer, toothbrush, hairbrush, comb, scrunchies, hair-clips, etc.
Prohibited Items.
ITEMS THAT LEAK OR MELT:
(these can spoil boxes) including toothpaste, shampoo, bubbles and
plasticine/play dough
FOOD OR LOLLIES OF ANY KIND: (due
to customs regulations) including medicines and vitamins
USED OR DAMAGED ITEMS: (due
to customs regulations) including worn clothing and old toys
BREAKABLE ITEMS: including
glass, porcelain and mirrors
ITEMS THAT CAN SCARE OR HARM A CHILD:
including halloween, war or pirate-related items such as toy guns, knives,
military figures or skull and crossbones
GAMBLING-RELATED ITEMS: including
play money, playing cards and dominoes
RELIGIOUS LITERATURE
THROWS
The students will take part in their throws events
tomorrow. Please come down during their sport time to support the children.
SCHOOL PHOTOS
We will be having our photos taken this Thursday. Could
you please ensure that your child is dressed appropriately in full winter
uniform, including correct shoes and jumper. All sports captains will need to
bring their sports uniforms. I will allow the students to bring some sort of
accessory for the Graduation Muck-Up Photo.
OPEN NIGHT
On the final Monday of term, from 5-6pm, we will be holding
our Learning Journey to share the rich learning that has taken
place in classes this term. If parents assemble in the hall at
5pm, there will be a short welcome and musical presentation.
All parents are then free to walk through the classrooms to
look at their child's work and art displays.
The students who arrive at school early are to remain
seated till the classrooms
are opened.

new fortnight of home learning has begun. Please take the time to sit down with
your child and discuss their planning for the next two weeks.

Literacy:

Voices (Traits of good writers)
We are busy writing the draft copy of our
narrative at the moment. We have explored using the five senses to create a
setting, the steal technique to build a character and our planning templates to
develop the plot.
Numeracy
Under this section you will find the Numeracy learning intentions for
the week.
This week, We are focusing on number, in
particular, the four operations as well as the order of operations.
