Literacy:
Under
this section you will find the literacy learning intentions for the week.
CAFÉ-R
(Traits of good readers)
We will be focusing on the comprehension strategy of
scanning this week. Scanning is when readers look only for a specific fact or
piece of information. It is a useful strategy because it allows us to find
details and other information in a hurry. This skill will be helpful when the
students begin to research their topics to write an information report.
Voices
(Traits of good writers)
We will begin researching and drafting our information
reports this week. With the Cricket World Cup beginning at the end of the
month, the children will be choosing one of the ten competing nations to write
an information report on.
Numeracy
Under this section you will find the
Numeracy learning intentions for the week.
We will be looking at collecting and analysing data
this week. The children will be learning about range, mean, median and mode.
Next week, we will be reviewing multiplication and
division.
Have a great
remainder of the week!
