Week 4 Homework and Information
Good afternoon,
A couple of items to be aware of for the coming weeks!
Graduation - this will be held on Friday 4th December beginning with Mass at the Church at 5.30pm. Once Mass has concluded all students and their parents will come to school to attend the amazing Graduation Dinner that the Year 5 parents are kindly organising.
All details are a surprise and the Year 5 Graduation Committee has been very busy behind the scenes organising this final send off for the students.
Further information will come in the following weeks. Any questions can be directed to Tara Nelson, Genevieve Greaves and Melinda Kartana.
Adventure World - On Wednesday 2nd December we will be embarking on an epic adventure to Adventure World!
We would love it if as many parents as possible would come with us...either on the bus or in the comfort of your own vehicle!
If you would like to attend can you please email me or speak with me directly as soon as possible.
A note with a permission slip will be coming home with your child in the coming days.
Lions International Peace Poster Competition - the students have been busy working on their entry for this competition.
Posters were due in today for consideration and the standard of entries is exceptionally high.
The Year 3-6 students will be voting on which one they think is the best on Tuesday with the winner being announced on Friday morning at Assembly. The parents of the winning students work will be notified via SMS.
We have also completed our graph which looks at the different places that the families in Silver Room originate from...this has been really interesting finding out how we are connected to different countries through our ancestry.
We are discussing the migration stories of many people and learning more about the circumstances surrounding their decision to move to Australia.
In History this week we will begin planning and drafting a Historical Narrative. The students will be able to choose from several different groups and they will plan and write a narrative around the events of the world and how their character came to decide to come to Australia!
iMovie Task - this is a joint project that the students will be working on in Library (Wednesday) and in our English lesson (Thursday) each week. The students brought home a copy of the Task Outline last Wednesday for your signature so that Mrs Meyer and myself know that you have seen it and are aware of what is required.
The students will need to work on some of these tasks at home. In order to assist them with any questions or technical issues, Mrs Meyer and I will be running a Genius Bar on a Wednesday at lunchtime if your child has any questions or needs any help. If they have any questions before or after that they are welcome to email them to myself or Mrs Meyer or come and speak with us directly.
This task is due Monday 23rd November.
We will be sharing the iMovie's at a Year 6 Family night on Thursday 26th November. Further details will be coming on this in the coming weeks, so please mark your calendar.
Year Books - these are due in on Thursday 26th November. The classroom is open to students to work on these during lunch on Tuesday's and Thursday's.
Please touch base with your child to see how they are going with this. If you would like to join us to help your child with their Year Book, we work on them on a Friday afternoon from 1.30-2.15pm.
Students are welcome to take them home at any stage during the week but they must be returned to school to be worked on in class on Friday's.
Please see below the Homework assigned for Week 4.
Have a great week!
