Welcome to Silver Room for 2017!

Good morning and welcome to the new term!

We have spent a busy morning getting ourselves organised for the term and reacquainting ourselves with our friends!

I would like to welcome our new students and their families to OLC...we have Porshia, Ned and Oliver joining us this year and I look forward to working with them and getting to know their families.

In my weekly blog post I will include reminders about upcoming events to help keep our classroom running smoothly. I will also place electronic copies of all notes that I send home on the blog for your reference. I will also share information and pictures about our learning as well as outlining the homework that has been assigned for the week.

I will send an email to you to let you know when I have posted a new entry.

REMINDERS

Books and Stationery Items - thank you for sending these in. They will be stored in the students drawers and taken out as needed. Please do not worry about covering books...it is absolutely fine if you have already done so. We will label and name them as we go.

Parent Information Evening - this will be held on Tuesday 7th February beginning at 5.30pm. It will run for approximately 1 hour.

During this time I will share important dates with you and give you an outline of the class and school procedures. If you are unable to make the meeting, please let me know in advance. I will send home all relevant information with your child on Wednesday.

Swimming Lessons - these will begin next Friday 10th February and will run through until Thursday 16th February. A note will be sent home today with all of the relevant information. Please make sure that you return the section indicating your child's stage by Friday 3rd February.

I will advise of our lesson time once the schedule has been set.

OLC will hold our Swimming Carnival on Thursday 23rd February at the Geographe Leisure Centre in Busselton. More information will follow.

We will be celebrating a whole school mass on Friday 17th February. It would be wonderful if as many parents as possible were able to join us.

HOMEWORK

For this week I will ask that your child spends 15-20 minutes reading each night. If they can please write this in their diary and bring it to you to sign.

It is important that your child is responsible for their own homework completion, this includes bringing their diary to you to be signed.

In conclusion, I would like to thank you for having your children so well prepared for our school year. I am very excited to get to know them better and to begin our learning programs in the coming weeks!

Have a great week,

Mrs Delane
