Week Two has begun and we have a wonderful week of weather ahead.

INTERSCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY CARNIVAL
Congratulations to the students that are representing the school this Thursday. It looks like they will have no excuses with fantastic weather on the cards. Good luck to all who are competing.

FAMILY CAMP ART
The Year Six students have been asked to design a logo for the 2019 Family Camp. Submissions will be open for the next 2 weeks.


LIONS INTERNATIONAL PEACE POSTER COMPETITION
The theme to this year’s competition is ‘JOURNEY OF PEACE’. You child is asked to create a poster that visually communicates the contest’s theme. All submissions need to be handed in by Friday of Week 9.


HOME LEARNING / DIARIES
A new fortnight of home learning has begun. Please take the time to sit down with your child and discuss their planning for the next two weeks.
The following should be included in the diary:

Everyday:
·       Reading
·       LSCWC (x4 per list of words)
·       Times Tables
·       Physical Activity

Students Choose When:
·       Mental Maths (Unit 19-20)
·       Spelling (Definitions and 1 spelling activity – per list)
·       Novel Study Chapters 1 and 2 ready for 'Literature Circle'

Home Life:
·       Teach you parents something (x2)
·       Go for a beach walk

Please ensure that your child is ticking their diary once an activity has been completed.

Literacy:
Under this section you will find the literacy learning intentions for the week.

Voices (Traits of good writers)
Over the next couple of weeks, we will be drafting and writing a procedure of something that is impossible to do. Your child may benefit from a little brainstorming session around the dinner table tonight. Possible ideas could include: growing a chocolate tree or how to catch a star.

Numeracy
Under this section you will find the Numeracy learning intentions for the week.
We are looking at polygons, quadrilaterals, triangles and circles this week.
