Camp Information

Good morning,

Please find below some important information regarding Camp 2015.

The adults attending Camp are Mrs Caitlin Delane. Mr Sean McSevich, Mrs Bernie Morrison, Mr Dan Meyer and Mr Andrew Stocks.

I am very grateful to those parents that volunteered their time, I wish that I could have taken everyone!

We will spending the week at DARE Adventure Camp in Dwellingup. This is located on Vandal Road, Dwellingup. The contact number in an emergency is (08) 9538 1314.

In the unfortunate event of a family emergency please contact Mr Alan Morrison directly and he will get in touch with me.

The activities are designed to challenge the students physically and mentally, encourage and facilitate teamwork and strengthen bonds with each other. Some of the activities include Abseiling, Archery, Bush Walking, Flying Fox (so much fun), Mountain Biking, Orienteering, Raft Building, Bush Craft and the legendary Night Walk.

At each meal, students will be involved in setting up and cleaning up afterwards in addition to other duties as required to keep our area clean and tidy.

One of our OLC school values is Excellence. In relation to Camp, we have been discussing the importance of personal excellence outside the classroom, in order to ensure that every person has the best Camp experience possible.

If your child's behaviour is preventing them from being at their personal best or inhibiting the Camp experience for others I will contact Mr Morrison.

If the behaviour continues to be a problem, myself or Mr Morrison will contact you directly. If the negative behaviour continues, you will be contacted to come and collect your child from Camp.

I would appreciate your support in discussing with your child beforehand the importance of using their manners and expressing their appreciation to the staff and adults attending.

We will depart OLC on Monday 4th May at 8am. Can you please have your child at school on that morning no later than 7.45am. It would be appreciated if we could have some helpers to assist in packing the bus.

We will leave Dwellingup on Friday 8th May at 1pm and we will return at approximately 3pm...I will notify Mr Morrison when we leave so he can keep you updated on our arrival time. Please make sure that you are prompt in picking up your child, they will have missed you terribly and are really looking forward to seeing you (even if they won't say that!).

Biscuits - We would appreciate if each family could send in two packets of biscuits with their child on Tuesday 28th April. These will be afternoon tea for the students whilst we are on camp.

Medical Forms - For those parents that have outlined a specific medical concern for your child. You will receive a copy of OLC's Student Medication Record today. Can I ask that you please fill this in and return it to me by Wednesday 29th April. This information will be vital in assisting me to help your child in the event of a medical emergency.
