Week 3 Update

Good morning,
Here is the Homework that has been assigned for this week:

Tuesday 28th April - Friday 1st May 2015 - Week 2
Reading –10-15 minutes each night

Diary –the students are given time every day to write all appropriate notes in their diary.
I ask that you check your child’s diary each night and sign it. I also use the diary as a way to let you know how your child is going or if I need to see you?

Maths – IXL– each day the students will be assigned an IXL Maths task to complete at home that night. These tasks are aligned to our learning in class and provide a way to practise and consolidate the skills from our classwork.

  • Tuesday K.2 - Identify Factors
  • Wednesday G.5 - Estimate sums and differences: word problems
  • Thursday A.2 - Word names for numbers
This is done to a maximum of 15 minutes.

Spelling -students will complete a Look, Say, Cover, Write, Check of all of their list words using the given framework. I ask that their words are corrected, either by you or by the student.
They will also need to complete one activity each night using the given Spelling Activities Rubric.

This term the students have been asked to add 5 "Conquer Words" to their weekly spelling lists. These words have come from their writing and are words that need a little further work to make sure they become embedded correctly.

Edmodo – I have asked that your child checks Edmodo every night when possible. This is a closed group in which the students are able to contact each other to ask relevant school work questions as well as complete set tasks.
Important Information
Parent - Teacher Interviews - Thank you to those that have already put their name down for an interview time. Please be aware that the purpose of these interviews is for me to share with you how your child is progressing.
Camp 2015 - A packing list was sent home via the blog and as a hard copy on Friday 24th April week to help guide the packing for camp. Please let me know if you have not received it.If you have not returned your child's forms can I please ask you to do so as soon as possible.
Can I ask that your child is at school on Monday 4th May no later than 7.45am. This will allow time to pack the bus and say our final farewells and get away on time.

Good afternoon, Welcome to Week 6...I can't believe how quickly the term is getting away from us! Notes - Graduation Dinner, iMovie Night & Adventure World Thank you to those who have returned notes. Term 1, Week 9

Hi Parents and students, What a great weekend to be down south! So special to be able to witness such a unique swell direction and see the whole coastline light up. Can’t wait for the next cyclone swell in 9 years! Affirmation of the Week: Camp: I am still on the hunt for some dad volunteers for the Year 6 camp. Let me know if you are interested. Chrism Mass: Please make sure your child has brought their permission slip into me tomorrow morning. Some children have suggested that they have misplaced their note. I have said to them to have Mum or Dad write a note that they give them permission to travel by bus, to and from St Patrick’s Cathedral in Bunbury. Please refer to the ‘Chrism Mass Blog’ for any other info. Holy Week: The Year 5’s and 6’s will be presenting their part of Holy Week celebrations on Wednesday morning at 9:00am in the hall. Final Reminders for Tomorrow

Good afternoon, Just a couple of reminders for tomorrow... Students are to come in free dress with clothing appropriate for the beach...thongs are fine.  Please make sure your child comes with suncream already applied, packed recess and lunch, towel and a hat. All students must wear a rashie! We will arrive at the beach at 11.45am. We will have lunch when we arrive and then we will hit the activities. You are welcome to join us for any part of the day...your child permitting!! We will be departing at approximately 2.30pm to come back to school.  Reports will be handed to the students back at school at the end of the day. Students are welcome to bring their Leavers shirts and graduation books to be signed. They can bring iPads to get the last of the photos from Tuesday...they will be deleted on Monday.
