The note below is being sent home today. Please cut and fill in the permission slip and return to me by Monday 26th March. The Inter School Swimming Team will receive theirs tomorrow.

Dear Parents,

RE: Chrism Mass – Tuesday 27th March

We will be travelling to Bunbury on Tuesday 27th March to participate in the Chrism Mass that is held at the Bunbury Cathedral. Mass will begin at 11am and will conclude at approximately 12.15pm. A short tour of the Cathedral will follow.

The purpose of this Mass is to consecrate the Oil of Chrism that is used during the Sacrament of Confirmation and bless the Oil of the Sick used for the Anointing of the Sick.

The sign of Confirmation is the Oil of Chrism, the most sacred of the oils. During the Confirmation ceremony, a person is anointed on the forehead with Chrism. As the oil is absorbed by the body, it is a sign of how the confirmed person is filled with the Holy Spirit. Chrism is olive oil mixed with a perfume so that it can never be confused with the other holy oils.

The Power of the sacraments is the power of Christ's Resurrection. Each year, therefore, Chrism is consecrated, and the Oils of the Sick and Catechumens are blessed, in Holy Week as part of the Easter celebrations.

We will be departing school promptly at 9.15am. I ask that all parts of the uniform including hair and shoes are neat and tidy. Please make sure that your child is wearing their leadership badge.

Your child will need to bring their water bottle, crunch and sip, morning tea and lunch in a small bag. We will have the opportunity to have crunch and sip before we enter the Cathedral and morning tea after the service has ended. We will then walk to a nearby Anzac Memorial to have lunch before coming back to school on the bus.

Please sign and return the permission slip below by Monday 21st March.

Final Reminders for Tomorrow

Good afternoon, Just a couple of reminders for tomorrow... Students are to come in free dress with clothing appropriate for the beach...thongs are fine.  Please make sure your child comes with suncream already applied, packed recess and lunch, towel and a hat. All students must wear a rashie! We will arrive at the beach at 11.45am. We will have lunch when we arrive and then we will hit the activities. You are welcome to join us for any part of the day...your child permitting!! We will be departing at approximately 2.30pm to come back to school.  Reports will be handed to the students back at school at the end of the day. Students are welcome to bring their Leavers shirts and graduation books to be signed. They can bring iPads to get the last of the photos from Tuesday...they will be deleted on Monday. Term 1, Week 9

Hi Parents and students, What a great weekend to be down south! So special to be able to witness such a unique swell direction and see the whole coastline light up. Can’t wait for the next cyclone swell in 9 years! Affirmation of the Week: Camp: I am still on the hunt for some dad volunteers for the Year 6 camp. Let me know if you are interested. I have said to them to have Mum or Dad write a note that they give them permission to travel by bus, to and from St Patrick’s Cathedral in Bunbury.
