Week 6 is Here!

Good morning,

My apologies for the delay in getting out a post this week!

REMINDERS - WEEK 6

Recycled Games Day - Is on tomorrow! All students are to bring in their materials today to finalise their creations

T20 Interschool Cricket Carnival - Please see the note that was sent home yesterday. If you can please sign them and give them to your child to bring back by tomorrow that would be great!

End of Year Graduation Present - As you are aware, each year the graduating class presents the school with a gift. Alisa has been in touch with you all to explain our idea. If you can please send in your donation as soon as possible it would be greatly appreciated.

I am happy to collect money here if that is easier for you!

End of Year Excursion - Just a reminder that the note and money is due in by Friday 1st December.

I have discussed with students that attendance on this day is a privilege and not a right

Students must be showing a good pattern on completing homework and showing appropriate behaviour in class. If there is any problems with how your child is travelling I will be in touch with you in the coming weeks to let you know.

Year Books - These are due in this Friday with no exceptions. As you can appreciate the students have been working on these for the last term and a half so they should be completed.

Preparation for High School - I found a great article which some of you may find interesting to have a read. It discusses some practical ways to support your child as they transition to high school.

Preparing your Child for High School

I met with Tamara Clark (Year 7 Coordinator - SMMC 2018) and Jenny Shipley (Support Coordinator (SMMC - 2018). This was a great opportunity for me to discuss each child that will be attending SMMC next year in detail. I am confident that all of our students will receive the support and care that they need to continue their educational journey!

Book Week 2017 - Thank you so much for the effort that you put into helping the students to come dressed up as well as they did! They all looked amazing! We had a wide variety of characters including The Joker, Two Face, Winnie the Pooh, The Mad Hatter, Nemo and the BFG. It was a great way to celebrate Book Week!

OUR LEARNING - WEEK 6

In our literacy work we have been creating Limericks and yesterday we began working on experimenting with creating an Ode.

In our History lessons we have been writing letters to our families back home sharing our experiences of being a part of the Gold Rush...

On Monday afternoon we also spent some time with the Kindy class whilst the new class was having their orientation. The kids had a wonderful time working with their Kindy buddy on a wide range of activities...I am not sure who had more fun!

During this time we also had Jason from Tennis Australia bring in the REAL Hopman Cup to show the kids!! The only people that are ever allowed to touch it is Jason and the actual winner!! I did try and find the spot where Roger Federer had kissed it but alas I had no luck!

We did let the kids in on a photo but I may have pulled teacher's privilege too!
