Confirmation Information for Sponsors.

Good afternoon parents,

Today we had a rehearsal for when the students are being confirmed. We have asked that the students share the procedure with their sponsor if possible to help things to run smoothly on Sunday.

Please share this information with your child's sponsor if possible before Sunday.

ROLE OF THE SPONSOR DURING THE ANOINTING WITH CHRISM

After the Laying on of Hands, when invited, the candidates come forward to Fr. Tony, with their sponsor. Each in turn stands before the Fr. Tony with his/her sponsor standing behind.

The sponsor places his/her right hand on the candidate’s right shoulder, saying: “Fr. Tony, I present to you…(the candidate’s Confirmation (Saint)  name). The  Sponsor hands Fr. Tony the Confirmation Card as he/she says this. (These will be given to you when you arrive on Sunday).

Fr Tony, with the sacred Oil of Chrism makes the sign of the cross on the forehead of the candidate as he says:

Fr. Tony: N(Saint). . . be sealed with the Gift of the Holy Spirit.

The newly confirmed responds . . . . Amen

Fr. Tony touches the cheek of the newly confirmed and says:
“Peace be with you” (as a reminder of the tenderness of God’s love).

The newly confirmed responds . . . . And with your Spirit.

The sponsor leads the candidate back to their seats.


We have given the Candidates have the  booklet to look through if you need further clarification.

Term 1, Week 9

Hi Parents and students, What a great weekend to be down south! So special to be able to witness such a unique swell direction and see the whole coastline light up. Can’t wait for the next cyclone swell in 9 years! Affirmation of the Week: Camp: I am still on the hunt for some dad volunteers for the Year 6 camp. Let me know if you are interested. Chrism Mass: Please make sure your child has brought their permission slip into me tomorrow morning. Some children have suggested that they have misplaced their note. I have said to them to have Mum or Dad write a note that they give them permission to travel by bus, to and from St Patrick’s Cathedral in Bunbury. Please refer to the ‘Chrism Mass Blog’ for any other info. Holy Week: The Year 5’s and 6’s will be presenting their part of Holy Week celebrations on Wednesday morning at 9:00am in the hall. Final Reminders for Tomorrow

Good afternoon, Just a couple of reminders for tomorrow... Students are to come in free dress with clothing appropriate for the beach...thongs are fine.  Please make sure your child comes with suncream already applied, packed recess and lunch, towel and a hat. All students must wear a rashie! We will arrive at the beach at 11.45am. We will have lunch when we arrive and then we will hit the activities. You are welcome to join us for any part of the day...your child permitting!! We will be departing at approximately 2.30pm to come back to school.  Reports will be handed to the students back at school at the end of the day. Students are welcome to bring their Leavers shirts and graduation books to be signed. They can bring iPads to get the last of the photos from Tuesday...they will be deleted on Monday.
