Confirmation Week!

Good afternoon,

I just wanted to take a few moments to share with you some of the amazing experiences that we have had this past week in the lead up to Confirmation.

We enjoyed a wonderful Retreat with Mrs Sue Barton in which the children were asked to liken themselves to wind and fire, complete a crossword on the Pentecost story, challenge their knowledge of Patron Saints and create a church using only cards! This was all aimed at helping us to understand that Jesus and the Church is present always and that we all have a part to play in creating our faith community.
We talked about the people that inspire us and what it was about our particular Saint that drew us to them.

We then had a beautiful morning tea!

After morning tea, we shared some private moments reading our letters that our parents and loved ones had given to us. It was a wonderful experience to be a part of as the students were very touched. It was a very emotional experience.

The next day we discussed the retreat and the things that they learnt and what they enjoyed. So many of the students were blown away by the letters they received…their comments were “I didn’t know I was loved that much!” “I never knew they felt that way!” “I feel so lucky!”

We enjoyed then enjoyed a feast for lunch! A very big thank you to all parents for the beautiful food you sent in for us to share a massive thank you to our volunteers who came in to prepare the amazing food!
We welcomed Fr Tony to our class on Thursday and he spent a couple of hours with us sharing stories and getting to know the students better. He was very impressed with the open and honest answers that he received to his questions as well as the willingness of the students to share.

Confirmation was on Sunday and it was amazing, the kids looked wonderful and conducted themselves brilliantly. I was very proud of them as I am sure that you were as well!

Thank you to everyone who shared this week with us, we are very grateful for all that you have done!

Have a wonderful week,

Mrs Delane
